The Importance Of Green Drinks & Chlorophyll

Let’s talk about the importance, and benefits, of drinking a green drink and the positive impact chlorophyll can have on your health.

Here is what we will cover in this article

  • What a green drink is.
  • Why you need to drink a green drink
  • How much should you drink.
  • What you can expect when you incorporate a high end green drink into your lifestyle
  • and how to get started if you’re interested.

A green drink is basically a concentrated green powder mixed with water.

A good green powder is going to include concentrated

  • grasses
  • leaves
  • vegetables
  • sprouts
  • and herbs.

There are a lot of benefits to drinking a concentrated green drink.

I did this video that does a good job of explaining things:

Let’s talk about some of them and why it is good.

Some of you may be thinking that you can just eat salads and get enough chlorophyll in your diet. Eating salads is good but there’s no way you can eat enough salad to get the concentrations of chlorophyll that we need.

In 1 teaspoon of a good green powder you can get two to three pounds of greens. It’s very concentrated. It’s just not possible to eat that much.

How Much Green Drink Should You DrinkA general rule for how much you should drink is 1 to 3 quarts or liters of water mixed with concentrated green powder per day. If you can get in 1-3 quarts or liters per day, that’s over @6 pounds of grasses, leaves, vegetables, herbs and sprouts.

A better way to calculate how much you should drink per day is to take your body weight and divide by 50. For example I weigh 160 pounds. If you divide that by 50 you get 3.2
Then translate that to quarts or liters per day. So I should drink a little over 3 quarts/liters per day.

If you can do this on a consistent basis you may experience more energy, sleeping better and deeper, your skin looks incredible, you have a lean/trim body, have clear bright eyes, you’re not hungry and when you are hungry you crave more green things. It’s amazing but it’s true. It happened to me.

Now, with that said, you may go through some detox. It may be hard at the beginning to get a highly concentrated green drink down.

You just have to stay the course.

I’ve been drinking a high-end green drink since 2001 and it took me 2 years to get used to drinking it.

What Happens When You Drink ChlorophyllI had the classic detox symptoms like headaches, diarrhea, feeling nauseous or like I have the flu, or very tired.

But I understood the science behind this and stuck it out.

Now my green drinks taste like sugar water to me.

My taste buds have changed and I actually crave them.

I seldom have detox symptoms and I feel great. It’s part of my lifestyle and I rarely miss a day.

But, it took time to get to this point.

How can you get started.

There are few High end Green Drink powders on the market and any one of them is good.

Pay attention to the ingredients and do some research. Make sure there are no fillers or sweeteners and also make sure the green drink powder is very concentrated and preferably “low heat” dehydrated.

I hope you decide to add a green drink to your daily regimen.

Over time you will like the results and will realize that it was one of the best decisions you made regarding your health.

Are green drinks safe? Many people want to know

I get this question asked a lot. People want to know if drinking a green drink is safe. My question back to them is “do you think eating a lot of vegetables are good for you”? Another way to look at this is that these are your liquid vegetables in a glass.

Let’s be honest, most people do not get enough vegetables in to begin with so having a concentrated powder that you can mix into your favorite beverage is only goodness. Drinking 1-3 liters of these drinks every day is only going to help.

Now, with that said, you have to pay attention to the ingredients in whatever green drink you buy. Many green drinks are loaded up with so many unhealthy fillers it’s not even funny. I would pay a lot of attention to the label and ingredients in the product. Look for organic herbs, grasses, grains, sprouts and vegetables. My opinion is that you don’t need any sweeteners included in your green drink. This is another filler that a lot of green drink companies put in their mix to make it taste good. I would steer clear of that.

Now, let’s say you have a high-quality green drink. A very concentrated powder. What you will want to do is to start slow on the program. Why? Because there is this thing called detox symptoms. Detox symptoms come in many forms like nausea, headaches, diarrhea, aches, pains and just an overall feeling of sluggishness. What many people don’t understand is that this is good. What’s happening is that the toxins are getting thrown out into the blood and this is causing all of the symptoms. In order to minimize this, you start slow on the program. What does this mean? If the green drink powder comes with directions to put one teaspoon into a liter or quart of water, divide that in half and start with a half a teaspoon. Work your way up to one teaspoon over time. There is no rush here. You could stay at half dosage for a month or two. It’s up to you and how you feel.

Let me just repeat again what I said in the above paragraph. If you’re new to drinking green drinks, start slow. Take the recommended dosage and divide it in half. Do this until you feel comfortable and strong, then move up to full dosage or three quarters dosage. You make the call.

Let’s say that you’re doing half dosage and you still feel miserable. What does this mean? First, it means you’re a very toxic person 🙂 and it means that you need to start even slower. For this, do 25% of the recommended dosage. In other words a quarter dosage.

Let me tell you what happened to me. I started drinking green drinks back in 2001. I was your typical American. Eating at a lot of fast food restaurants and eating processed foods from the supermarkets. I also loved a lot of the sugary drinks and coffee. When I first started drinking green drinks I was miserable. I was constantly going thru and having detox symptoms. Honestly, this went on for 2 to 3 years. You have to look at it this way. At the time I started I was approximately 40 years old. So, for 40 years I lived a certain way and built up a lot of toxicity in my body. When I started to put this good stuff (green drink) in my body the toxins went on the move. This is a good thing. Where would you rather have the toxins, inside your body or moving out? This is something that had to happen and had to run its course. For me it took years. I would suspect that the same thing will happen to most people that start on a green drink.

Once you break through all of this detox you will have a burst of energy every day. Currently green drinks are a part of my lifestyle and I try to drink 2-3 liters or quarts per day. I get the same energy boost every time I drink one.

Another question I get a lot is whether drinking a green drink is good to do during pregnancy. First let me say that whatever the doctors says goes. Let your doctor know what you’re going to do and even give this person a list of the ingredients. Heed your doctor’s advice.

Now, with that said, this is just my opinion, but drinking a green drink would be the biggest gift you could give your child. The problem is that most people are not ready. In other words, most people are very toxic and acidic and detox symptoms are going to occur. This is not something you want to have happen during pregnancy.

If you’re someone that is very health conscious and has been drinking a green drink prior to pregnancy everything should be okay. Again, this is my opinion and you should consult your doctor.

What about children? As with adults, start slow. Again, this is just my opinion, but introducing your kids to green drinks at an early age is one of the best gifts you can give them. Parents love that they can get veggies into their children’s lives by mixing the powder in their favorite drink. I wish I had access to this when I was a kid. Many kids aren’t too excited about broccoli or salads so having the ability to mix up a quick green drink comes in handy.

Here are three things that you can expect to happen when you start drinking a highly concentrated green drink:

  • Digestion will be aided
  • Your immune system will be enhanced
  • You will have endless amounts of energy

For most people this does not happen on day one but just stay focused, make it part of your lifestyle, and you will see the same results as everyone else.

Green drinks are also great for people on the go. Maybe you’re someone with a very hectic lifestyle or maybe you travel a lot. Having the ability to mix up a green drink with some water keeps you focused on your health 365 days a year no matter where you are. In fact these days there are no excuses anymore to stay healthy.

I hope this article gives you a better idea of whether or not green drinks are safe. I think it comes down to the ingredients in the green drink and how quickly you start the program. Read the labels and check every single ingredient. Make sure there are no fillers. Once you find the right green drink for you start slow on the program. Let your body tell you how things are going. If you feel miserable start even slower. Maybe get off the product for two or three days then start again even slower. What will happen is that over time you can work up to the recommended dosage. For some people they can do it immediately. For others it may take a year to work up to the recommended dosage. That’s okay. Again let your body tell you how things are going.

So, my opinion is that the right green drink is safe. In fact, not only is it safe but I believe it’s a critical part of anyone’s lifestyle.

Green Drinks – Providing Your Body with Essential Vegetables and Greens in a Glass

It goes without saying that a healthy body requires fresh fruits, vegetables and greens. These foods provide the body with essential vitamins, minerals and other nutrients for healthy functioning. A green drink or two daily can help to ensure your body is getting these nutrients because most people do not consume enough vegetables and greens to get the most benefit from them.

A green drink is a blend of vegetables, organic grasses, sprouts and other essential greens that are good for you. These types of greens help to prevent diseases and illness. Foods that are sugary and acidic such as red meat, pasta, sugar, eggs, dairy products and processed foods can cause all sorts of health issues such as weight gain, lack of energy, illness and other health problems.

Many of the vegetables, fruits and greens we eat are processed being canned, stewed or frozen. This results in them losing the vitamins and minerals which are otherwise found in the fresh kind. There is a big difference between an apple and applesauce.

Vitamins are the same way. Although these supplements are taken with the intent of providing our bodies with essential vitamins and minerals, they are not doing as well of a job as some might think. This is because they are formulated, processed and compressed into pill form which makes the body struggle to absorb the nutrients because most of the work is breaking up the hard pills. Through this process, only up to 15% of the nutrients in the pills are typically absorbed before they pass out of the body.

To get a healthy supply of vegetables into your daily diet, you can juice them into a drink. This will allow your body to absorb the nutrients from your vegetables faster because they are in liquid form. If you are not up to juicing your vegetables on a regular basis, a green drink can be a good alternative.

Green drinks not only supply your body with all the vitamins and minerals in vegetables and greens, but they also cleanse your body ridding it of unwanted toxins. They also provide your body with more energy, better looking skin and hair and help fight off illness and other health problems. These drinks are easy for the body to digest because they are liquid form resulting in quicker nutrient absorption.

The green drink helps to get rid of acid in your body which improves your health and releases stored fat resulting in weight loss. The greens and plants in this drink help supply the body with extra oxygen and fuel body cell function. By adding just 1 or 2 of these drinks to your diet each day, you will begin to feel healthier and more energized all while providing your body with the nutrients it needs each day to function properly.

The Benefits Of Taking A Green Drink

How important is having a green drink in one’s diet? Very important. With life seemingly becoming busier with each passing day, it is always so tempting to pay little regard to the ingredients of the food we eat and before long we settle into an unhealthy diet that almost exclusively consists of fast foods and meals with saturated fat and concentrated sugars.

The result of such a diet is high levels of acid in the body which in turn leads to many forms of sickness and disease. It takes deliberate steps to reverse this trend. One of the best items you can include in your diet is a green drink.

A green drink is made from a mix of vegetables such as kale, wheat and barley, sprouts such as the alpha sprout and even fruits, in some cases. Research has for many years demonstrated that vegetables are good for your health because they help prevent disease by strengthening the immune system.

This is because unlike processed foods that are often packed with animal protein, vegetables have an alkaline pH and therefore help neutralize any upswing of acidity in the body and prevent the diseases that would otherwise result. The range of illnesses prevented ranges from what would be considered low risk diseases such as the common cold to chronic sicknesses such as cancer.

The greens used in the actual green drink of course determines the type of diseases that will be prevented when one takes the drink. Broccoli for instance is a powerful cancer deterrent and any green drink that is made from it will have similar preventative power. The alpha sprouts and the kamut grass have been proven to decrease cholesterol levels and weight.

If you have ever tried going on a diet rich in vegetables, then you will agree that keeping track of the any different types of vegetables that you need to take in order to detox and improve your health can rapidly become overwhelming and difficult to track. The green drink is meant to address this predicament since the vegetables are ground and then mixed into a single drink.

Once you take the drink you rest in the assurance that you have met a good proportion of the vegetable requirements in your diet. The fact that the vegetables are in liquid form also means that digestion and absorption is much faster than it would be when the vegetables are in their solid form. In addition, certain types of vegetables may not necessarily appeal to your taste buds when taken alone.

The green drink includes any such vegetable but comes in flavors that cover almost anyone’s taste preferences. The green drink is a great alternative to unhealthy animal proteins as it can be fortified with greens that are rich in plant protein.
